Having joined Catalyst in 1999, Matt Stapleton is responsible for sales to our retail insert customers as well as management of our uncoated product lines at our Powell River and Elk Falls mills. He has extensive experience in various sales management positions with a number of leading paper companies. "My goal is to meet the needs of our customers from the time they order the paper until it is run through the press." Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The United States Naval Academy. Matt is based in Seattle.

Ken Brar
Sales Operations Manager Specialty Papers
Ken Brar has been providing solid strategic and financial insight since joining the company more than 20 years ago. Starting as an accountant with Crown Paper, Ken progressed to various finance roles at the Elk Falls mill before moving into strategic planning and then sales and marketing in the corporate office. As sales operations manager for specialties, Ken oversees the development of new sales opportunities and plays a key connecting role between sales, customer service, supply chain and manufacturing. Ken is based in Richmond.

Dale Band
Director Specialty Paper Sales
Dale Band joined Catalyst in 2002, and for the last two years has managed our newsprint and specialty sales in Canada. Dale came to us from Voyus Canada where he served as general manager of the company's British Columbia region. His previous sales experience includes roles with Kimberly Clark and Xerox Canada. Dale completed his undergraduate studies at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY and is based in Chicago.

Chris Trittenbass
Sales Manager Specialty Paper Sales
Since joining Catalyst in 2000, Chris has held several positions in containerboard and newsprint sales. Before Chris came to Catalyst he was responsible for containerboard movements through Catalyst's primary distribution centre, Sylvan Distribution. Chris brings to his role an excellent understanding of how to service our customers. His logistics and customer service background are definite assets as our customers demand excellence in service. Chris holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of British Columbia and is based in Seattle.

Steven D. Wareham
Director Specialty Paper Sales
As Director Specialty Sales, Steve Wareham works closely with our customers in the U.S. Midwest to ensure they arrive at the paper solutions that best fit their needs. He brings more than a decade of paper experience to his position, much of it focused on specialty paper sales. Steve holds a master of science in management with a marketing/strategy concentration from Purdue University and a bachelor of business from Western Illinois University. He is based in Illinois.

James Hardt

Paul Gordon is the leader of Catalyst's directory team, with well over 30 years of experience in the paper business. Beginning his career with Crown Zellerbach in 1974, Paul has sold everything — from waxed paper to coffee filter paper to linerboard. His responsibilities now include managing Catalyst’s telephone directory business. With an exceptional track record, Paul brings a solid mix of leadership, knowledge and experience to the team. Peter's industry experience spans both pulp and paper. He started with British Columbia Forest Products in 1984 first as a newsprint sales representative for the Canadian market, and then overseas. Sixteen years later, he moved into pulp sales for the European market, became sales director in 2001 and vice-president in 2005. "We have an excellent network of international agents and many long-term, loyal customers. The association I have with these people has made my transition to the pulp side of the business a most enjoyable experience."
