Social Responsibility

We believe that doing the right thing is more important than doing things right. And our core values guide us in all of our actions.

Corporate social responsibility is one of our core values. We measure success in this area by the health of citizens, safety and well-being of our employees, vibrancy of our communities, sustainability of our practices and reverence for our surroundings.

These measurements of success are hard to live up to, and we will fall short from time to time. However, we will always take responsibility for our actions, redress shortcomings to the best of our ability and work with government, environmental non-governmental organizations and our neighbours to steadily improve.

We share best practices among our four paper and pulp manufacturing divisions, paper recycling plant and 100% recycled newsprint mill. In the process, each of these operations challenges the others to raise the bar of performance.
