Powell River

About Powell River Division

Powell River Division, located on the mainland coast of British Columbia, is a leading producer of high-quality newsprint and uncoated mechanical specialty papers. With 475 employees, Powell River Division plays an important role in the cultural, social and economic health of this community.

We're a proud contributor to programs and organizations that support a strong and vibrant community in Powell River. The division and employees are big supporters of the Powell River and District United Way, contributing tens of thousands of dollars each year to this important community building organization. The Powell River mill is also home to a salmon hatchery, operated by the Powell River Salmon Society, which releases more than two million fry a year into local streams.

We are also pleased to have partnered with the City of Powell River and the Tla-Amin (Sliammon) First Nation in the creation of PRSC Land Developments Limited. The 325 hectares of surplus land which Catalyst sold to this joint venture have the potential to serve as a cornerstone for future economic development and diversification in the local region.
