About the Community

Powell River rests on the mainland, about 145 miles north of Vancouver, between the Strait of Georgia and the pine-covered coastal mountains of the Sunshine Coast. The Regional District of Powell River stretches from Saltery Bay in the south to Lund in the north, with a population of some 19,000.

A popular vacation spot, Powell River is minutes away from the historic Swedish fishing village of Lund, as well as Texada Island, Savary Island, Desolation Sound, and plenty of starting points for hikers, kayakers and other outdoor enthusiasts.
