Lindsey is responsible for Catalyst’s Specialty Papers with a focus on C1S, pressure sensitive, label and converting markets. She has held various sales roles within Catalyst’s legacy company NewPage Corporation since 2006, including International Development Manager and Commercial Print Sales Manager. Lindsey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a focus on Professional Sales and Marketing from the University of Toledo. Lindsey is based in Chicago.
Jim leads Catalyst's sales and marketing team, which is responsible for global sales for all of the company's product lines. Jim has more than 25 years of paper sales experience in the U.S., Canada and international markets and is well-respected in the groundwood paper industry. Jim was previously director of international sales for Pacifica Papers. Most recently, Jim served as vice-president, Newsprint International. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University.
Susan joins Catalyst with more than 15 years of experience selling publishing papers. In that time she has worked with a wide spectrum of clients, from publishers to catalogers to retailers, providing a personalized approach to meet the unique needs of each business. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Lehigh University and lives in New York City.
Brian’s responsibilities include the assembly of Catalyst’s overall strategy, marketing of its existing product lines, and development and commercialization of new products outside of traditional printing and writing grades. Brian has spent the entirety of his twenty-year career in the paper industry, occupying a diverse variety of roles spanning across order management, marketing, and strategy; most recently, he was a Strategy Director for NewPage Corporation. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the College of Saint Scholastica, as well as a Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma.
Sally's industry experience spans both pulp and paper. She started with Fletcher Challenge in 1989, then joined the Paper Division in 1991 and had been through a number of capacities with the Paper Division. In 2003 Sally moved into Pulp Marketing as sales coordinator and has become the Pulp Sales Director in 2007; she is responsible for pulp sales to all markets.
Paul is the leader of Catalyst's directory team, with well over 30 years of experience in the paper business. Beginning his career with Crown Zellerbach in 1974, Paul has sold everything — from waxed paper to coffee filter paper to linerboard. His responsibilities now include managing Catalyst’s telephone directory business. With an exceptional track record, Paul brings a solid mix of leadership, knowledge and experience to the team. "I am proud of the accomplishments we have enjoyed in transforming our company into a true industry leader. We are now recognized as the preferred supplier and honoured by the trust our customers place in us. I am looking forward to continuing to build on the momentum we have established and improving every aspect of our offerings." Paul is based in Texas.
James joined Catalyst in 1997. He has held various roles within the company and began selling Catalyst's paper products in April 2004. James has over two decades of printing and paper experience and is now responsible for managing sales solutions to retail insert and catalog customers. James completed his undergraduate studies at Mercer University in Atlanta, Ga. and is now based in Tennessee.
Matt leads Catalyst’s Specialty Papers team focused on the coated C1S, pressure sensitive, label and converting markets. Matt has had publication and specialty sales roles the last 14 years in the paper industry, most recently as Senior Account Manager for NewPage handling strategic pressure sensitive and label business. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Master’s degree in Sports Marketing from Xavier University and is based in Chicago.
Mark is a veteran in the newsprint industry. Starting in 1977 with International Paper, moving on to Abitibi-Price in 1983 and then joining SP Newsprint in 1988 until its sale to White Birch in 2008, he has been involved with the successful sales and marketing strategies for three new paper machines. He also created and implemented the distribution infrastructure for AZERTY, an Abitibi-Price computer supplies and accessories subsidiary. Mark formed his own company in 2008 and expanded the footprint of the Snowflake mill in 2009 and 2010. He recently joined Catalyst full time in June 2011 and is based in Atlanta, GA.
Christophe brings previous industry experience having worked for Abitibi Consolidated, International Paper and Stora Enso and leads Catalyst’s sales efforts in Latin America. He brings 19 years of past experience in a variety of sales and management positions, for a wide range of products, and in the US, Canadian and Asian markets. Most recently, Christophe served as Director of Sales of Northeast US and Eastern Canada for NewPage. Christophe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Hobart College and Master of Arts degrees in French Studies from the University at Albany and New York University.
David is responsible for sales effort for Catalyst Paper in the Mid Atlantic United States through Eastern Canadian markets. A 30 year veteran in the coated and uncoated printing marketplace, David has spent the last nine years as a Senior Commercial Print Sales Manager with New Page. He holds a business degree from the University of Maine and resides in Merrimack New Hampshire with his wife, Marie. They have two children, Caroline and John.
Sara is responsible for selling coated freesheet and coated groundwood in the Midwest market. She has over 25 years experience selling coated, uncoated and text and cover grades while focusing on merchants, printers, creatives and end users. She most recently held the position of Senior Commercial Print Sales Manager with NewPage, responsible for the Southeast and Midwest regions. Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from DePaul University and is based in Chicago, Illinois.
Mary Beth is responsible for Specialty Paper sales with a focus in C1S, pressure sensitive, label and converting markets. With over 25 years of experience in print and paper throughout North America, Mary Beth most recently held the position of Senior Account Manager for NewPage, handling strategic label and converting accounts. Mary Beth holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University, and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University. She is based in Toronto.
Since 1986 Mark has experienced every facet of the paper industry — from paper converting, printing, customer service, production planning and supervision to logistics and sales. "While I have been involved with most facets of bringing our paper to the market, many of the principles of producing paper and selling it to a customer remain the same. Most of the process is about making what customers need and value and getting it to them as promised. Our value equation is quite simple — to be the preferred supplier and give the customer the best all-round value."
Jeff's 20 years of industry experience include selling newsprint, coated freesheet, coated groundwood and SC. Jeff has sold through all platforms; printers, publishers, merchants and brokers. Jeff held various sales roles at Abitibi Consolidated in New England, the Midwest, and Southeast. Most recently, Jeff was a senior account manager at NewPage. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bethany College and is based in Connecticut.
Greg leads Coated Woodfree Sales at Catalyst, bringing with him 24 years industry experience in commercial print, publishing and specialty grades. Throughout his career, Greg has held increasingly senior sales roles, including vice-president, sales at Appleton Paper for seven of his 17 years there. He was most recently at NewPage before joining Catalyst. Greg graduated from Kansas State University with an Accounting degree and is based in Kansas City.
Matt leads our North American Publication Papers Sales team. He is responsible for the Coated and Uncoated Product lines. Having joined Catalyst in 1999, Matt Stapleton was most recently responsible for North American Paper Sales as well as the management of our Specialties product lines at our BC mills. He has extensive experience in various sales management positions with a number of leading paper companies. "My goal is to meet the needs of our customers from the time they order the paper until it is run through the press." Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The United States Naval Academy. Matt is based in Seattle.
Since joining Catalyst in 2000, Chris has held several positions in Containerboard, Newsprint and Specialty Paper sales. His responsibilities include managing the sales for all paper grades into the Canadian market. Chris brings to his role an excellent understanding of how to meet the diverse needs of our customers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia and is based in Seattle.
Steve works closely with our customers in the U.S. Midwest to ensure they arrive at the paper solutions that best fit their needs. He brings more than 20 years of paper experience to his position that includes national account sales as well as management of our SC and uncoated groundwood product lines. Steve holds a master of science in management with a marketing/strategy concentration from Purdue University and a bachelor of business from Western Illinois University. He is based in Illinois.
Jim knows paper from both sides, having worked with printing companies for 13 years in pressroom, production and plant manager positions, prior to moving into paper sales in 1994. Now with Catalyst, Jim focuses on matching the right paper solutions to the needs of our magazine and catalogue customers. He is based in California.
