His responsibilities now include managing Catalyst’s telephone directory business. With an exceptional track record, Paul brings a solid mix of leadership, knowledge and experience to the team. "I am proud of the accomplishments we have enjoyed in transforming our company into a true industry leader. Mark is a veteran in the newsprint industry. Starting in 1977 with International Paper, moving on to Abitibi-Price in 1983 and then joining SP Newsprint in 1988 until its sale to White Birch in 2008, he has been involved with the successful sales and marketing strategies for three new paper machines. He also created and implemented the distribution infrastructure for AZERTY, an Abitibi-Price computer supplies and accessories subsidiary. Mark formed his own company in 2008 and expanded the footprint of the Snowflake mill in 2009 and 2010. He recently joined Catalyst full time in June 2011 and is based in Atlanta, GA.
Since 1986 Mark has experienced every facet of the paper industry — from paper converting, printing, customer service, production planning, customer service and supervision to logistics and sales. "While only four of my 20 Catalyst years have been specifically in newsprint, most of the principles of producing paper and selling it to a customer remain the same. Most of the process is about making what customers need and value and getting it to them as promised. Our value equation is quite simple — to be the preferred supplier and give the customer the best all-round value."
