Magazine debuts Catalyst Cooled paper on June 15th with Special Issue Devoted to Global Warming
Vancouver, BC - May 30 - Catalyst Paper announced a series of initiatives today in a continuing drive to reduce costs and improve profitability. They include:
Crofton, BC - On May 1, 2007, Catalyst Paper will resume operating the Cowichan Lake weir, which regulates water flow out of Cowichan Lake. The weir operation will gradually reduce water flow from the lake into the Cowichan River to the target level of 15 cubic metres per second set by the Ministry of Environment.
The Cowichan Lake boat lock, which allows boats to travel between the lake and the river, will also begin operating again on May 1. Both the weir and boat lock were closed for the winter season in November 2006.
Vancouver, BC – Catalyst Paper Corporation president and chief executive officer Richard Garneau announced the appointment of David Smales as vice-president, finance and chief financial officer, effective today. Mr. Smales had been serving in the role in an acting capacity since March 29, 2007.
